Pharmacist - Zachary, Louisiana

Provide expert pharmaceutical care as a licensed pharmacist in a hospital setting with 131 beds and an average daily census of 60-70 patients, aiming to reach 80. This contract role in Zachary, LA requires inpatient experience and familiarity with sterile compounding. Training on EPIC EMR is available, although prior experience is preferred. The position offers a dynamic work environment supporting a fully staffed pharmacy team of six pharmacists and three pharmacy technicians.

Location: Zachary, Louisiana
Duration: Minimum 90 days with a possibility of extension. Temp-to-perm candidates are welcome to apply.
Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Shifts available: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM
• Weekend coverage required with the same hours
• Rotating on-call duty averaging 5-7 days per month

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical and distributive pharmacy services in an inpatient hospital setting
• Prepare sterile compounded medications and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Utilize EPIC EMR for order entry and medication verification (training provided if needed)
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians who support Pyxis inventory management and medication automation
• Participate actively in patient care rounds and medication therapy management
• Manage on-call duties responsibly and provide consultation as needed

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Louisiana Pharmacist license required
• Proven experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy
• Sterile compounding expertise required
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR software preferred, but training can be provided
• Comfortable working within a team-oriented and fast-paced hospital environment
• Reliable in managing on-call responsibilities
