This opportunity is for a full-time Pharmacy Manager position located in Altoona, PA within a retail pharmacy setting. The role offers direct hire employment with a 36-hour workweek, featuring a variable schedule of day and afternoon shifts. The ideal candidate will take on leadership and operational responsibilities to ensure the efficiency and profitability of the pharmacy department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with store operations teams and pharmacy associates, promoting associate engagement and communicating company strategies clearly.
- Ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately and appropriately by conducting Drug Utilization Reviews and performing final quality assurance in compliance with state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Drive departmental profitability and prescription growth through implementation of clinical programs such as immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
- Collaborate with the District Manager and pharmacy staff on inventory control, ordering pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
- Align team performance with measurable department metrics focusing on effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service through healthcare counseling and resolve customer concerns to build trust and loyalty.
- Supervise pharmacists, pharmacy associates, and support staff, managing training, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain pharmacy security and ensure a clean, organized, and orderly pharmacy environment.
- Prioritize and complete departmental tasks including cycle counts, inventory management, and customer will-calls in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License.
- Current Pennsylvania Immunization License.
