Supervising Pharmacy Manager | Arvin, California

A full-time Pharmacy Supervisor opportunity is available in an animal health compounding pharmacy setting. This onsite role is based in Bakersfield, CA, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 5:15 PM. This contract position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $185,000 plus bonus eligibility, dependent on experience. Benefits eligibility is also provided.

The primary focus will be leading and developing a team of pharmacists responsible for producing high-quality compounded preparations. You will oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensure compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards, and maintain quality benchmarks. Driving continuous improvement in compounding processes and supporting staff through training and accountability are vital parts of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of pharmacists to meet operational and quality metrics
• Oversee daily workflow and compounding production
• Ensure compliance with USP standards and state/federal pharmacy regulations
• Maintain accurate training records and reinforce proper compounding techniques
• Assist in selecting appropriate drugs for dispensing and compounding preparations
• Identify process and formulation improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and cross-functional teams as needed
• Uphold confidentiality and follow all company policies

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution
• Minimum 2 years managing personnel in a pharmacy lab environment
• 2–5 years of compounding pharmacy experience
• Strong knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, State Board regulations, and 503A requirements
• Proven leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
