Supervising Pharmacy Manager - Bakersfield, California

An animal health compounding pharmacy in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Supervisor to lead and develop a team of pharmacists producing high-quality compounded preparations. This onsite role focuses on managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with USP standards, and driving continuous improvement as the pharmacy scales its operations.

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday
• 8:15 AM–5:15 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop pharmacy staff, holding pharmacists accountable for performance and training
• Set clear productivity, quality, and compliance expectations aligned with USP <795>, <797>, and <800>
• Support daily compounding operations, workflow, and maintain accurate training documentation
• Assist with drug selection for dispensing and compounded preparations
• Identify and recommend process and formulation improvements to optimize pharmacy operations
• Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and other departments to ensure seamless operational continuity
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all state and federal regulations and company policies

Qualifications:

• Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited program
• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a pharmacy lab setting
• 2–5 years of compounding experience, with in-depth knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, State Board regulations, and 503A compliance
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
