Step into a leadership role as the Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge at a well-established hospital specializing in behavioral health. This contract opportunity offers a chance to oversee pharmacy operations, contribute to patient care, and provide critical management support during a transitional period.
Location:
- Based in West Virginia with onsite presence required
- Facility includes 165 licensed beds with an average daily census of 130
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- On-call coverage expected after shifts and on weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all staffing and administrative duties associated with the PIC role
- Oversee pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance and efficient workflow
- Collaborate closely with clinical and support staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Lead the pharmacy team, including 1 full-time pharmacist, multiple per diem pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians
- Support order filling, delivery, and inventory management through tech support
- Utilize the HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation, with training provided
- Maintain professional business casual dress standards on site
- Receive onsite mentoring and guidance from the retiring Director of Pharmacy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active West Virginia pharmacist license required
- Previous hospital pharmacy management experience, especially with Omnicell systems, is highly valued
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills suitable for administrative and clinical responsibilities
- Experience in behavioral health pharmacy services is advantageous
This contract role begins August 31, 2026, and will continue until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired. Onsite training ensures smooth transition and support throughout your assignment.
