This role offers an exciting opportunity to serve as the Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge at a behavioral health hospital in West Virginia. The position supports a licensed 165-bed facility with an average daily census of 130 patients, providing leadership and operational oversight within a dynamic healthcare environment. This contract assignment begins on August 31, 2026, covering the period until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all pharmacy operations as the Interim Director of Pharmacy and PIC, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and administrative duties
  • Oversee medication distribution and inventory management with support from pharmacy technicians
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care in the behavioral health setting
  • Participate in on-call coverage following each shift and on weekends
  • Engage in onsite training provided by the retiring Director of Pharmacy

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current West Virginia pharmacist licensure is required
  • Proven experience in hospital pharmacy management is essential
  • Familiarity with Omnicell automation system preferred; training available
  • Experience with HCS order entry system preferred; training provided
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team consisting of one full-time pharmacist, per diem pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • On-call responsibilities after shifts and weekends
