Pharmacy Manager in Bedford, VA

An immediate opening exists for an experienced Pharmacist to serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a newly established behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA. This hospital is the result of a joint venture between two prominent healthcare organizations, creating a unique and dynamic work environment focused on behavioral health services.

This position is a contract opportunity starting ASAP, with an initial duration of 13 weeks and potential to transition into a permanent role. The schedule is Monday through Friday, day shifts, providing a consistent work-life balance.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies
• Manage medication distribution and inventory specific to behavioral health pharmacotherapy
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy plans
• Maintain accurate records and supervise pharmacy staff performance
• Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of pharmaceuticals

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Current pharmacist licensure with eligibility to work in Virginia
• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist-in-Charge, preferably within a hospital or behavioral health setting
• Strong knowledge of medication management in behavioral health conditions
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach with clinical teams
