An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Manager to serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for a community hospital pharmacy in Southern California. This role is ideal for a leader with strong management skills and a resilient approach to staff oversight.
The hospital is a 100-bed facility with an average daily census of 45 patients. The pharmacy operates with 19 full-time equivalents (FTEs) and includes a 340B outpatient pharmacy program. The facility is currently DNV accredited but is preparing to transition to The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and supervising pharmacy personnel to ensure effective workflow and team performance
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
- Overseeing the pharmacy budget and resource allocation
- Acting as PIC to maintain pharmacy operations and accountability
- Utilizing IT systems such as Cerner and Pyxis to support pharmacy services
Qualifications and experience:
- Active California Pharmacist license
- Proven management experience within a hospital pharmacy setting
- Willingness and ability to hold PIC responsibilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage a diverse and challenging team
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shifts
- Potential option for four 10-hour days per week
