An opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacy Manager to lead operations at a small community hospital located in Southern California. This 100-bed facility has an average daily census of 45 patients and requires a dedicated professional to hold the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) position during a contract spanning approximately 13 weeks, with an ASAP start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight of pharmacy personnel, ensuring smooth workflow and optimal productivity
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements; currently DNV accredited with plans to transition to The Joint Commission (TJC)
- Manage pharmacy budget and operational performance
- Oversee the 340B outpatient pharmacy program
- Utilize IT systems including Cerner and Pyxis
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to support patient care
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday day shifts
- Potential to explore a four-day workweek with 10-hour shifts
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active California Pharmacist license
- Proven management experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
- Willingness and capability to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge
- Strong interpersonal skills with the resilience needed to manage a challenging staff environment
