An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Manager to serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for a community hospital pharmacy in Southern California. This role is ideal for a leader with strong management skills and a resilient approach to staff oversight.

The hospital is a 100-bed facility with an average daily census of 45 patients. The pharmacy operates with 19 full-time equivalents (FTEs) and includes a 340B outpatient pharmacy program. The facility is currently DNV accredited but is preparing to transition to The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supervising pharmacy personnel to ensure effective workflow and team performance
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
  • Overseeing the pharmacy budget and resource allocation
  • Acting as PIC to maintain pharmacy operations and accountability
  • Utilizing IT systems such as Cerner and Pyxis to support pharmacy services

Qualifications and experience:

  • Active California Pharmacist license
  • Proven management experience within a hospital pharmacy setting
  • Willingness and ability to hold PIC responsibilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage a diverse and challenging team

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, day shifts
  • Potential option for four 10-hour days per week
