Seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager to serve as an interim Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Director of Pharmacy (DOP) at a small, rural critical access hospital. This contract opportunity is ideal for a licensed California pharmacist with hospital pharmacy experience who can quickly step into a leadership role within a close-knit healthcare setting.
Location:
- Rural Northern California
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour day shifts per week
Duration:
- Approximately 13 weeks, with a start date as soon as possible
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations with a focus on staffing (90%)
- Conduct order verification and supervise pharmacy technicians
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff through clinical consultations
- Manage pharmacokinetics and support medication therapy decision-making
- Perform administrative duties related to pharmacy management (10%)
Qualifications:
- Active California Pharmacist license required
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred
- Proven leadership in pharmacy operations or management roles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with clinical teams
- Ability to manage staffing and workflow in a fast-paced hospital environment
