An immediate need exists for an interim Pharmacy-in-Charge/Director of Pharmacy at a small, 25-bed critical access hospital located in rural Northern California. This contract opportunity offers a unique chance to lead pharmacy operations in a close-knit hospital setting, primarily focusing on staffing with some administrative responsibilities.

Location: Clearlake Oaks, CA
Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week
Duration: Approximately 13 weeks, starting as soon as possible

Key Responsibilities:

• Verifying medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety
• Supervising pharmacy technicians and managing daily workflow
• Consulting with physicians and nursing staff on medication therapies
• Applying pharmacokinetic principles to optimize patient care
• Managing about 90% staffing duties and 10% administrative tasks

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid California Pharmacist license
• Prior experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a small team effectively
• Proficiency in order verification and medication safety protocols
