Supervising Pharmacy Manager | Cooperstown, New York

An exceptional leadership opportunity is available for a Specialty Pharmacy Manager to oversee and guide a growing specialty pharmacy operation in Central and Upstate New York. This role starts with a hybrid remote work model based in Oneonta, NY, and will transition to a brand-new onsite specialty pharmacy location in Utica, NY, once it is built and licensed. This is a temp-to-hire or direct hire position offering a chance to shape a cutting-edge specialty pharmacy practice.

Location & Work Model:

• Initial: Oneonta, NY (hybrid remote)
• Future: Utica, NY (onsite after new facility opens)

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations of the specialty pharmacy program
• Lead, develop, and support a multidisciplinary pharmacy team
• Ensure compliance with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, including URAC and ACHC
• Oversee prior authorizations and dispense specialty medications accurately
• Collaborate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and internal staff
• Facilitate excellence in patient care for complex disease states such as oncology, HIV, infusion therapies, and rare diseases
• Implement operational strategies that support growth and quality outcomes

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active New York State Pharmacist License in good standing
• Proven specialty pharmacy experience (required)
• Previous leadership or management experience in a pharmacy setting
• Strong operational management and team leadership skills
• Familiarity with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards (URAC and ACHC highly desirable)
• Experience with prior authorizations and specialty medications preferred
• Exceptional communication skills, adept at patient and provider interactions
• Comfortable starting in a hybrid remote role and fully onsite once relocated
