A Southern California hospital is seeking an experienced Interim Pharmacy Manager to oversee pharmacy operations in a 100-bed community hospital setting. This role requires a strong leader comfortable managing a busy team and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for the hospital pharmacy
- Manage daily pharmacy workflow, personnel, and schedules for a team of 19 FTEs
- Oversee compliance with regulations and accreditation standards, including transition from DNV to The Joint Commission (TJC)
- Maintain budgetary oversight and optimize resource allocation
- Utilize Cerner and Pyxis systems for pharmacy operations
- Support 340B outpatient pharmacy activities and ensure program integrity
- Engage effectively with clinical, administrative, and support staff, fostering positive workplace culture despite challenging dynamics
Qualifications:
- Valid California Pharmacist license is required
- Proven management experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
- Ability and willingness to serve as PIC
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Resilience and adaptability to navigate complex team environments
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday daytime shifts
- Potential to explore alternative schedules such as four 10-hour days
