This opportunity seeks an experienced Pharmacy Manager to provide interim leadership for a small community hospital in Southern California. Serving a 100-bed facility with an average daily census of 45 patients, this role will oversee the pharmacy department, holding the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) license and ensuring compliance, workflow efficiency, and staff management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage pharmacy personnel, fostering a professional and productive work environment.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including budget management and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain oversight of 340B outpatient pharmacy services.
  • Utilize IT systems such as Cerner and Pyxis to optimize pharmacy workflow.
  • Ensure readiness for the upcoming accreditation transition from DNV to The Joint Commission (TJC).

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid California Pharmacist license.
  • Proven management experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Willingness and ability to serve as PIC for the facility.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with resilience to effectively manage a challenging team.
  • Familiarity with 340B pharmacy programs and hospital IT systems (Cerner/Pyxis) preferred.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday day shifts are standard.
  • Potential for four 10-hour shifts per week may be considered.
