An opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacy Manager at a small, 100-bed community hospital in Southern California. This contract position begins ASAP and is slated for at least 13 weeks. The hospital maintains an average daily census of 45 patients and supports a 340B outpatient pharmacy program.

This role requires holding the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) responsibilities, overseeing a pharmacy team of 19 full-time equivalents. The hospital is currently DNV accredited with plans to transition to The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation. Familiarity with Cerner and Pyxis systems will be essential.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, day shifts
  • Potential flexibility to explore four 10-hour shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage pharmacy personnel and workflow to ensure efficient operations
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the pharmacy budget and resource allocation
  • Act as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for the hospital pharmacy

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current California Pharmacist license
  • Proven management experience in a hospital or similar pharmacy setting
  • Ability and willingness to serve as PIC
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of managing a challenging staff environment
