A critical position is available for a Pharmacy Manager to serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a small behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA. This role offers the unique opportunity to oversee pharmacy operations in a newly established hospital—a joint venture between prominent health organizations. The assignment begins ASAP and will last 13 weeks, with potential to transition from contract to permanent.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge, overseeing medication dispensing and staff supervision.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize pharmacotherapy for behavioral health patients.
- Maintain accurate records, manage inventory, and ensure proper medication storage.
- Implement quality assurance procedures to enhance patient safety.
- Lead and train pharmacy staff to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active pharmacist license with ability to serve as PIC.
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Manager, preferably in behavioral health settings.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage pharmacy operations efficiently.
