A Pharmacy Manager position is available for an outpatient infusion pharmacy at a cancer center in Fredericksburg, VA. This contract-to-hire opportunity involves managing and staffing the outpatient infusion pharmacy team in a 380-bed acute care hospital setting.
Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations of the outpatient infusion pharmacy, supervising 2-3 pharmacists and 3 technicians, and ensuring efficient medication preparation—especially IV compounding and chemotherapy agents. The role does not require pharmacist-in-charge duties or on-call/weekend coverage. The pharmacy operates from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with typical manager schedules from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist in Virginia
- Proven experience in IV compounding and chemotherapy preparation
- Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations
- Experience with Epic pharmacy information system preferred
- Knowledge of Pyxis automation system
- Previous 340B program experience is not required
