Supervising Pharmacy Manager | Fredericksburg, Virginia

A leadership opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Manager to oversee the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy at a cancer center in Fredericksburg, VA. This contract-to-hire role offers a chance to manage and staff a dynamic pharmacy team within an acute care hospital setting, focusing on infusion services without the responsibilities of serving as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC).

Responsibilities:

• Manage and staff the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy, ensuring efficient daily operations
• Supervise a team comprising 2-3 pharmacists and 3 pharmacy technicians
• Oversee IV compounding and chemotherapy preparation in compliance with safety and quality standards
• Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize patient care in the infusion setting
• Utilize the hospital’s pharmacy information system (Epic) and automation system (Pyxis) to support workflow

Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia Pharmacist license
• Proven experience in IV compounding and chemotherapy preparation
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Familiarity with Epic pharmacy system and Pyxis automation is a plus
• Experience with outpatient infusion pharmacy preferred

Schedule:

• Work hours are either 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, aligned with pharmacy operation hours (7:30 AM to 4:30 PM)
• No weekend or on-call coverage required
