An interim Pharmacy Manager position is available at a 25-bed critical access hospital in rural Northern California. This contract role is ideal for a licensed California pharmacist with hospital pharmacy experience, seeking to step into a leadership role in a close-knit healthcare setting.

Location: Northern California – Hidden Valley Lake area
Position Type: Contract (~13 weeks)
Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct oversight of pharmacy operations as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and Director of Pharmacy (DOP)
  • Order verification and medication dispensing
  • Supervising and supporting pharmacy technicians
  • Consulting and collaborating with physicians and nursing staff on pharmacokinetics and medication management
  • Balancing administrative duties with the majority of time focused on pharmacy staffing and clinical responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active pharmacist license in California is required
  • Proven hospital pharmacy experience, ideally within a critical access or small hospital environment
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage pharmacy staff effectively
  • Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
