An interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy is needed for a small hospital setting in rural Northern California. This role supports a 25-bed critical access hospital, providing key pharmaceutical leadership and direct patient care. The position offers an opportunity to impact the pharmacy operations in a close-knit healthcare environment.

Duration: Approximately 13 weeks
Schedule:

• Four 10-hour day shifts per week

Responsibilities:

• Staff approximately 90% of the hours, ensuring adequate pharmacy coverage
• Perform order verification and supervise pharmacy technicians
• Consult with physicians and nurses to optimize patient medication therapies
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles in patient care
• Manage administrative pharmacy duties, including regulatory compliance and quality assurance (~10%)

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid California Pharmacist license
• Previous hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in a critical access or small hospital setting
• Strong leadership and communication skills to oversee pharmacy operations and collaborate with the healthcare team
• Experience with order verification, supervision of technicians, and clinical consulting
