An interim Pharmacy Manager position is available at a small, 25-bed critical access hospital in rural Northern California. This role is ideal for a licensed California pharmacist with hospital experience, ready to step in promptly and provide essential leadership and clinical expertise.

Location: Rural Northern California
Job Type: Contract (approximately 13 weeks)
Schedule:

  • Four 10-hour day shifts per week

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations with 90% of duties focused on staffing and clinical services
  • Order verification to ensure accuracy and safety
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain high standards
  • Consult with physicians and nurses on medication management
  • Perform pharmacokinetic monitoring and provide expert guidance
  • Manage administrative tasks related to pharmacy operations (10%)

Qualifications:

  • Active California Pharmacist license is required
  • Proven experience in a hospital pharmacy setting, preferably within critical access or rural hospital environments
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a small pharmacy team effectively
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals
