An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Manager to serve as the interim Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and Director of Pharmacy (DOP) at a small, 25-bed critical access hospital in rural Northern California. This contract position supports a close-knit healthcare environment where your clinical expertise and leadership will directly impact patient care and operational effectiveness.
Location:
- Rural Northern California, Kelseyville area
Schedule:
- 4 days per week
- 10-hour day shifts
Duration:
- Approximately 13 weeks, with a start date as soon as possible
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee staffing and daily pharmacy operations (approximately 90%)
- Conduct order verification ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and daily workflow
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to provide pharmaceutical consultations
- Apply pharmacokinetic principles in patient care and medication management
- Handle administrative duties related to pharmacy services (approximately 10%)
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid California Pharmacist license
- Demonstrated experience in hospital pharmacy settings
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a small, dedicated team
