Lead pharmacy operations as an Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge at a well-established behavioral health hospital in West Virginia. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to manage staffing, oversee administrative duties, and support a dynamic pharmacy team at a licensed 165-bed facility with an average daily census of 130 patients.
Location:
- Kenova, WV (River Park Hospital – Huntington, WV)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- On-call coverage after shifts and on weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge, managing both staffing and administrative functions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and provide leadership to pharmacy staff
- Coordinate pharmacy operations within a behavioral health setting
- Collaborate with a team comprising one full-time pharmacist, four per diem pharmacists, and two full-time equivalent pharmacy technicians
- Utilize and manage order entry through HCS and site automation with Omnicell (training provided)
- Oversee technicians in order filling, inventory control, and medication delivery
- Participate in onsite training facilitated by the retiring Director of Pharmacy
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current West Virginia pharmacist licensure is required
- Previous experience in hospital pharmacy settings, with a preference for behavioral health expertise
- Familiarity with Omnicell automated systems beneficial
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
