Pharmacy Manager - Lakeport, CA

A critical access hospital in rural Northern California seeks an experienced interim pharmacist-in-charge/director of pharmacy for a limited engagement. This is an excellent opportunity to lead pharmacy operations in a close-knit healthcare setting serving a community of approximately 25 beds.

Position Details:

• Location: Northern California (Lakeport area)
• Duration: Approximately 13 weeks
• Start Date: Immediate availability preferred
• Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing daily pharmacy operations with a focus on staffing management (approximately 90%)
• Performing order verification and reviewing prescriptions
• Supervising and mentoring pharmacy technicians
• Consulting regularly with physicians and nurses to optimize patient care
• Monitoring pharmacokinetics and ensuring compliance with hospital protocols
• Administrative duties related to pharmacy management (approximately 10%)

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active California Pharmacist license
• Prior hospital pharmacy experience is essential, preferably in a leadership role
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clinical teams
