A behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA, is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC). This newly established facility is a collaborative effort between two major healthcare organizations and requires a dedicated Pharmacy Manager to oversee pharmacy operations, ensuring safe and effective medication management for patients in a behavioral health setting.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment, supporting a critical area of patient care. The position is initially a 13-week contract with the potential to transition into a permanent role. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, daytime hours, providing a consistent routine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations and staff as the Pharmacist-in-Charge
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and hospital policies
  • Manage medication distribution and inventory control
  • Collaborate closely with clinical teams to optimize patient medication therapies
  • Provide leadership and training to pharmacy staff
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid pharmacy license and credentials in Virginia
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Manager or working PIC, preferably in a behavioral health or similar hospital setting
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to start immediately and commit to the contract duration
