This opportunity is for an Interim Director of Pharmacy (DOP) and Pharmacy in Charge (PIC) role at a 165-bed hospital specializing in behavioral health. Located in West Virginia, this position involves leading a pharmacy team supporting an average daily census of 130 patients. The role begins August 31, 2026, covering until a permanent DOP is hired, following the retirement of the current director.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee pharmacy operations as the PIC, including staffing and administrative duties
- Manage pharmacy staff consisting of one full-time pharmacist, four per diem pharmacists, and approximately 2.6 full-time equivalent technicians
- Ensure efficient pharmacy services including order filling, delivery, and inventory management with technician support
- Utilize the HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation, with training provided onsite
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and hospital policies
- Participate in on-call coverage after shifts and on weekends
- Collaborate with clinical teams in a behavioral health setting
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current West Virginia pharmacist licensure is required
- Pharmacy management experience with preference given to hospital and Omnicell system familiarity
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work business casual attire and adapt to a dynamic environment
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with on-call responsibilities after shifts and on weekends
