Employment Type: Travel Contract — Interim
Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM — minimum 35 hours per week

On Call: Required after each shift — weekend coverage is on call only

Facility Overview

This is a behavioral health hospital with a Pharmacist in Charge role supported by 1 full-time technician along with several per diem and part-time technicians and pharmacists. The facility recently completed a Joint Commission survey and a state visit, so this is a well-prepared, recently reviewed operation. No sterile compounding is involved.

Responsibilities

Serve as Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge — minimum 35 hours per week.
Verify and process medication orders using the HCS order entry system
Oversee technician staff filling Omnicell and processing orders
Attend and lead departmental meetings
Manage staff scheduling
Collect and organize data to support the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
Provide on-call coverage after each shift and on weekends
Help relieve current pharmacy staff and provide steady, reliable leadership during the assignment

Experience

Director of Pharmacy or pharmacy leadership experience required
HCS order entry system experience required
Some pharmacy policy experience required
Behavioral health pharmacy experience a plus
Omnicell experience helpful

Skills

Strong pharmacy leadership and team support skills
Comfortable stepping into an established and recently reviewed operation
Effective communicator with technicians,s per diem staff, and hospital leadership
Organized and detail-oriented comfortable supporting P and T data collection
Reliable and steady under on-call expectations

Qualifications

Active New Jersey Pharmacist License required

Education

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
