Pharmacy Manager in Oneonta, NY

An exciting leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Specialty Pharmacy Manager to support a growing specialty pharmacy operation serving Central and Upstate New York. This role offers a unique hybrid-to-onsite transition, beginning with a flexible hybrid remote work arrangement based in Oneonta, NY, and evolving to full onsite presence at a brand-new specialty pharmacy facility in Utica, NY once it is built and licensed.

Position Details:

• Specialty Pharmacy Manager
• Employment Type: Temporary to Hire or Direct Hire
• Initial Location: Oneonta, NY (hybrid remote)
• Future Location: Utica, NY (onsite only upon new location opening)
• Work Model: Hybrid remote transitioning to full onsite in Utica

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily specialty pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Manage and develop pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
• Ensure adherence to specialty pharmacy accreditation and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance entities to streamline prior authorizations and optimize patient care
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of specialty medication protocols and disease states such as oncology, HIV, infusion therapies, and rare diseases

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active New York State Pharmacist License in good standing
• Proven specialty pharmacy experience (required)
• Demonstrated leadership or management experience within a pharmacy setting
• Familiarity with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, including URAC and ACHC (strong plus)
• Prior authorization expertise and experience with specialty medications preferred
• Exceptional communication skills with patients, providers, and pharmacy teams
• Comfortable working in a hybrid remote setting initially with willingness to transition onsite
