This opportunity is for a Pharmacy Manager role at a 340B retail pharmacy located within a critical access hospital. The pharmacy operates with a prescription volume of approximately 140 prescriptions per day, serving an essential role in the community with a dedicated team of one pharmacist and two technicians. The position requires a hands-on manager who can lead daily pharmacy operations efficiently within a close-knit team.

Schedule:

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00 am to 6:30 pm
  • Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • On-call duties are possible but occur infrequently

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and 340B program requirements
  • Oversee prescription processing and daily workflow in a retail environment
  • Collaborate closely with pharmacy staff to optimize patient care and medication safety
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with pharmacy audits
  • Support inventory management and procurement activities
  • Foster a positive work environment ensuring all staff remain engaged and productive

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Iowa Pharmacy license or eligibility to obtain a temporary Iowa license prior to start date
  • Solid retail pharmacy experience; familiarity with 340B pharmacy operations is highly preferred
  • Ability to work full-time hours as outlined above
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently within a small team setting
  • Experience with Pioneer pharmacy computer system is advantageous

  • Orange City, Iowa, serving a critical access hospital environment
