An advanced leadership opportunity is available for a Specialty Pharmacy Manager to oversee and grow a dynamic specialty pharmacy operation serving Central and Upstate New York. This role offers a unique career path beginning with a hybrid remote work model from Oneonta, NY, transitioning to an exciting new onsite specialty pharmacy location in Utica, NY, once it is fully constructed and licensed.

Position Details:

• Role: Specialty Pharmacy Manager
• Employment Type: Temporary to Hire or Direct Hire
• Initial Location: Oneonta, NY (Hybrid Remote)
• Future Location: Utica, NY (Onsite upon new facility opening)
• Work Model: Hybrid remote transitioning to full onsite

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active New York State Pharmacist License in good standing
• Proven specialty pharmacy experience (required)
• Pharmacy leadership or management experience essential
• Comfortable with starting in a hybrid remote work model
• Willingness and ability to transition to full onsite work in Utica
• Strong operational and team management capabilities
• Knowledge of specialty pharmacy accreditation standards such as URAC and ACHC preferred
• Experience with prior authorizations and specialty medications is a plus
• Excellent communication skills with patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy teams
• Familiarity with specialty disease states such as oncology, HIV, infusion therapies, or rare diseases is advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily operations of the specialty pharmacy program ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
• Manage and mentor pharmacy staff, fostering collaboration and efficiency
• Oversee authorization processes and specialty medication dispensing
• Interface effectively with patients, providers, and internal teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Support the successful transition to the new Utica facility, contributing to its licensure and operational readiness
