Seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager to oversee operations at a 340B retail pharmacy located within a critical access hospital setting. This role involves managing a prescription volume of approximately 140 per day and leading a small pharmacy team. The position starts mid-September and spans about 13 weeks, supporting the pharmacy until a permanent manager is hired.
Location:
- Orange City, Iowa
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-call duties are rare but may be required
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, especially related to the 340B program
- Supervise pharmacy staff including one pharmacist and two technicians, providing leadership and guidance
- Oversee prescription processing using the Pioneer pharmacy system
- Ensure excellent customer service and efficient workflow within the outpatient retail setting
- Collaborate with hospital departments to support comprehensive patient care
- Maintain inventory and manage medication procurement effectively
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid pharmacist licensure in Iowa or ability to obtain a temporary Iowa license
- Proven retail pharmacy management experience; familiarity with 340B program preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team
- Ability to work full-time during designated pharmacy hours
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
