A dynamic leadership opportunity exists for a Pharmacy Manager to oversee the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy at a well-established cancer center in Fredericksburg, Virginia. This contract-to-hire position focuses on managing and staffing the outpatient infusion pharmacy, ensuring high-quality care in a busy acute care setting with 44 infusion chairs and a daily census averaging 350 patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and staff the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy, coordinating daily operations with a team of 2-3 pharmacists and 3 pharmacy technicians.
• Ensure compliance with clinical standards and safety protocols, particularly in IV compounding and chemotherapy preparation.
• Utilize pharmacy information systems such as Epic and automation systems including Pyxis to optimize workflow.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to support patients’ infusion therapy needs.
• Maintain pharmacy operational hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM with no requirement for on-call or weekend coverage.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia Pharmacist license.
• Strong background in IV compounding and chemotherapy pharmacy.
• Experience working in an acute care hospital environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic pharmacy information system and Pyxis automation.
