Seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager to oversee the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy at a cancer center in Fredericksburg, VA. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers a chance to lead and manage a dedicated team in an acute care hospital setting with a focus on outpatient infusion services.

Responsibilities include managing and staffing the OP Infusion Pharmacy, ensuring smooth operations for a pharmacy team of 2-3 pharmacists and 3 technicians. The role does not require serving as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) or weekend/on-call coverage. Pharmacy operation hours run from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with expected work shifts from 7:30 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily infusion pharmacy operations.
  • Staff and support the outpatient infusion pharmacy team.
  • Oversee IV compounding and chemotherapy preparation.
  • Utilize hospital pharmacy systems, including Epic and Pyxis automation.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and ensure quality patient care.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia Pharmacist license.
  • Strong experience with IV compounding and chemotherapy pharmacy.
  • Familiarity with Epic pharmacy information system and Pyxis automation preferred.
  • Ability to manage and support pharmacy staff effectively.
  • Experience in an acute care hospital infusion setting advantageous.
