Pharmacy Manager - Woodbridge, VA

A leadership opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Manager to oversee the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy at a cancer center in Fredericksburg, Virginia. This role is a contract-to-hire position, providing an excellent pathway to permanent employment.

The facility is an acute care hospital with 380 staffed beds, an average daily census of 350, and 44 infusion chairs. The Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy team consists of 2-3 pharmacists and 3 technicians, without PRN staff support.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy, including staffing and workflow coordination
• Provide hands-on pharmacy services alongside the team; no Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) duties required
• Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards in IV compounding and chemotherapy preparation
• Utilize Epic pharmacy information system and Pyxis automation for efficient medication management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care needs during pharmacy operational hours (7:30am to 4:30pm)
• Maintain a high standard of service without on-call or weekend coverage obligations

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Virginia Pharmacist license
• Strong background in IV compounding and chemotherapy preparation
• Experience managing outpatient infusion pharmacy services preferred
• Familiarity with Epic pharmacy information system and Pyxis automation desirable
• Ability to lead and support a small pharmacy team effectively

Schedule:

• Typical shifts from 7:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm during standard pharmacy hours
