Supervising Pharmacist - Woodbridge, Virginia

Lead the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy at a prominent cancer center in Fredericksburg, Virginia, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care within an acute care hospital setting. • Fredericksburg, VA

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Pharmacy operational hours: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• No on-call or weekend coverage required

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and staff the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy, ensuring efficient daily operations and patient safety
• Oversee a team comprising 2-3 pharmacists and 3 technicians, providing guidance and support
• Focus on IV compounding and chemotherapy preparation, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Utilize Epic pharmacy information system and Pyxis automation for workflow management
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to optimize pharmacy services within the cancer center

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active Virginia pharmacist license
• Proven expertise in IV compounding and chemotherapy handling
• Experience in managing outpatient infusion pharmacy operations preferred
• Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems advantageous
• Ability to lead a small team effectively without taking on PIC responsibilities

This role excludes 340B program management, allowing focus on core pharmacy and patient care activities. The position supports a dedicated scheduling structure with no on-call or weekend duties, promoting work-life balance.
