A hospital in the Los Angeles area is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for an immediate contract assignment lasting 8 to 13 weeks with possible extension. This position offers an opportunity for licensed technicians to support an inpatient, acute care setting with a strong focus on IV compounding and medication dispensing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compound intravenous medications accurately and efficiently following hospital protocols.
- Fill and maintain Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
- Participate in order entry utilizing Paragon/Allscripts systems.
- Provide support during varying shifts between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM, including weekend coverage from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Work collaboratively with a small pharmacy team consisting of 3 pharmacists and 3 pharmacy technicians.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Pharmacy Technician license.
- Demonstrated experience in inpatient, acute care pharmacy environments.
- Proficiency with IV compounding and Pyxis automation systems.
- Familiarity with order entry systems, specifically Paragon and/or Allscripts.
- Ability to adhere to professional dress code standards (scrubs required).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Location:
- Anaheim, CA, with options available to accommodate travelers interested in temporary assignments.
Schedule/Hours:
- 40 hours per week.
- Shifts vary between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM.
- Weekend coverage is required on a rotating basis.
