Support patient care in a dynamic retail/outpatient Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting as a Pharmacy Technician. This contract or contract-to-hire opportunity involves working a schedule designed to ensure optimal pharmacy operations and patient service.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter prescription and patient demographic information into the pharmacy system.
  • Fill, label, package, and prepare prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
  • Process insurance claims, including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and 340B-eligible prescriptions.
  • Assist patients with prescription pick-up, refills, transfers, and medication inquiries, referring clinical questions to the pharmacist.
  • Handle payments following established cash-handling procedures.
  • Order medications, receive shipments, rotate stock, and maintain pharmacy inventory.
  • Remove expired medications and help maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Assist with clinic medication and vaccine orders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation while ensuring patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, medical assistants, and pharmacists to coordinate patient care.
  • Deliver compassionate customer service to a diverse patient population, including uninsured and low-income patients.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of pharmacy technician experience is highly preferred.
  • Active and clear Colorado pharmacy technician license.
  • Certification through PTCB or NHA required.
  • Experience with EPIC Willow is preferred; however, training will be provided (1-2 days) if needed.
