Pharmacy Technician in Aurora, CO

This contract opportunity is for a Pharmacy Technician role in a retail/outpatient Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. The position offers a chance to support a diverse patient population—including uninsured and low-income individuals—by delivering compassionate and efficient pharmacy services. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately enter prescription and patient demographic information into the pharmacy system.
• Fill, label, package, and prepare prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
• Process insurance claims, including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and 340B-eligible prescriptions.
• Assist patients with prescription pick-ups, refills, transfers, and medication inquiries, referring clinical questions to the pharmacist.
• Handle payments and adhere to cash-handling procedures.
• Order medications, receive shipments, rotate stock, and maintain inventory.
• Remove expired medications and support compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Assist with clinic medication and vaccine orders.
• Maintain documentation with strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, medical assistants, and pharmacists to ensure coordinated patient care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• 2 to 3 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Active, clear Colorado pharmacy technician license required.
• Certification from PTCB or NHA.
• Experience with EPIC Willow preferred; training available if needed.
