This role offers a unique opportunity for a licensed Pharmacy Technician to serve as a vital link between multiple healthcare facilities and the pharmacy operation across Southern Illinois. Operating primarily out of a centralized base near Springfield, this position involves traveling within an assigned territory to provide hands-on support and clinical expertise.

Key responsibilities include building and maintaining strong relationships with facility leadership and staff, acting as the primary liaison to ensure quality medication therapy and compliance. You will conduct onsite visits, deliver training and education on pharmacy systems, and support survey preparation and medication management activities. Collaborating closely with pharmacy teams, you will help identify opportunities for service expansion and improve patient care outcomes across facilities.

Schedule and Location:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with rare weekend work
  • Flexibility for occasional later audits or visits
  • Based near Springfield, IL with travel to surrounding facilities up to one hour away
  • Reliable transportation required; overnight stays may be necessary and costs covered

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician license required
  • PTCB certification highly preferred
  • Experience in long-term care pharmacy settings
  • Familiarity with pharmacy and medication distribution software (EMAR, Medbank, Frameworks preferred)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
