This opportunity is for an experienced Pharmacy Technician specializing in IV/Inpatient care, offering a 13-week contract working overnight shifts at a major pediatric hospital campus in Austin, TX. The schedule follows a rotating pattern of 7 days on, 7 days off, from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and compound sterile IV medications in a pediatric hospital setting
- Collaborate with pharmacy and clinical staff to ensure accurate medication dispensing and administration
- Utilize EPIC system effectively for medication orders and inventory management
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety standards for sterile compounding
Qualifications:
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT-TX) license from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience, with pediatric experience preferred
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board is preferred
- IV certification is mandatory
- Completion of 40 hours of accredited sterile compounding training preferred
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical record system is required
