An overnight Pharmacy Technician role is available on the pediatric inpatient unit of a well-established hospital in Austin, TX. This 13-week contract assignment starts on March 9 and follows a 7-on/7-off overnight schedule from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Candidates with experience in pediatric pharmacy settings will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and compound sterile intravenous medications adhering to all safety and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy and nursing staff to ensure accurate dispensing and medication preparation.
  • Utilize EPIC pharmacy software for medication verification and record-keeping.
  • Maintain inventory and proper storage of pharmaceuticals in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Support inpatient pharmacy operations during overnight hours.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT-TX) license is required.
  • IV certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum two years of hospital pharmacy technician experience, preferably in a pediatric setting.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) credential preferred.
  • Completion of 40 hours in sterile compounding training accredited by the ACPE or ASHP is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience using EPIC pharmacy information system.

Schedule:

  • Overnight shift: 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Work pattern: 7 days on, 7 days off
