This opportunity is for a pharmacy technician skilled in sterile compounding and clinical support within infusion therapy settings. Under the pharmacist’s direction and adhering to state pharmacy board regulations, this role is essential to preparing and dispensing injectable and oral medications that support core healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare sterile IV and infused medications in compliance with USP 797, USP 800, and State Board of Pharmacy standards.
- Maintain call and shipment schedules to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
- Collect, document, and share critical clinical information with pharmacy, nursing, and reimbursement teams.
- Accurately enter patient and prescription data into pharmacy software while following regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of the clean room environment according to company policy and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with continuing education requirements and complete annual re-credentialing.
- Manage receipt, storage, picking, and packaging of medications and supplies for patient home delivery.
- Perform inventory counts and support formulary management.
- Obtain additional state licensure or registration as needed to expand service areas.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of infusion pharmacy technician experience preferred; hospital IV tech experience also considered.
- Current NY Pharmacy Technician license and PTCB certification in good standing.
- Knowledge of CareTend system is a plus.
- Strong understanding of USP standards and state regulations related to sterile compounding.
