Pharmacy Technician in Blue Springs, MO

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician with recent retail experience to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced pharmacy setting. The position is approximately 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with rotating shifts between 8:00 am–3:00 pm and 10:00 am–5:30 pm. The pharmacy fills around 150 prescriptions daily using PioneerRx software, offering a stimulating environment with significant patient interaction. This contract-to-hire opportunity aims at long-term growth, with full benefits available upon permanent employment.

Location:

• Blue Springs, MO (near 4400 Broadway, Kansas City)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting patients in person and via phone, addressing questions, and resolving medication or insurance issues effectively.
• Accurately process prescriptions, including data entry, insurance billing, and labeling in a high-volume workflow.
• Participate in non-sterile compounding activities with training provided, preparing medications according to strict safety and formulation guidelines.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and ensure timely dispensing.
• Manage inventory, stock medications, and maintain organization of pharmacy supplies.

Qualifications:

• Active Missouri Pharmacy Technician License required.
• Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy technician experience; candidates with closed-door or hospital backgrounds are discouraged due to the high patient traffic and interaction.
• PTCB certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Positive, determined team player with excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
