An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician to support a busy pharmacy environment on a 13-week contract basis. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-focused setting.

Location: Clearwater, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP or approximately 1.5–2 weeks after offer clearance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process and fill prescriptions, manage insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections.
  • Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform data entry and maintain prescription paperwork while providing clear communication with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, restocking, and monitoring medication expiration dates.
  • Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and proper destruction procedures.
  • Cross-train across various pharmacy functions to effectively support departmental needs.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and other applicable insurance regulations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • PTCB certification and current Florida pharmacy technician license mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience; call center experience is a plus.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, providers, and internal teams effectively.
