An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support a specialty retail pharmacy focused on complex patient care. This role requires strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to assisting patients managing multiple chronic conditions.

Location:

  • Butler, PA

Employment Type:

  • Contract to Hire
  • Immediate start preferred
  • Initial assignment for 13 weeks with potential for permanent placement

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Lunch break from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM
  • No weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients with complex medication regimens, often taking 8-15 medications daily
  • Provide clear, patient-focused communication, especially for individuals with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
  • Utilize Pioneer Rx software (training provided if needed)
  • Work compassionately with a predominantly Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patient population, many with low health literacy
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and patient confidentiality
  • Collaborate closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in retail and specialty pharmacy settings strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients suffering from chronic diseases
  • Familiarity with managing specialty medications is a plus
  • Registration with the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy is required
  • National certification (PTCB or equivalent) is highly preferred but not mandatory
