An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support a specialty retail pharmacy focused on complex patient care. This role requires strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to assisting patients managing multiple chronic conditions.

- Initial assignment for 13 weeks with potential for permanent placement
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Lunch break from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM
- No weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients with complex medication regimens, often taking 8-15 medications daily
- Provide clear, patient-focused communication, especially for individuals with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
- Utilize Pioneer Rx software (training provided if needed)
- Work compassionately with a predominantly Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patient population, many with low health literacy
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and patient confidentiality
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail and specialty pharmacy settings strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients suffering from chronic diseases
- Familiarity with managing specialty medications is a plus
- Registration with the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy is required
- National certification (PTCB or equivalent) is highly preferred but not mandatory
