An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician to support a 250-bed inpatient healthcare facility. This long-term contract position offers a chance to engage in varied pharmacy duties within a dynamic hospital setting. The role requires a candidate who can work variable afternoon shifts, including every other weekend, ensuring consistent pharmacy operations and patient care support.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing inpatient pharmacy duties in compliance with hospital protocols
- Compounding sterile and non-sterile medications accurately and safely
- Restocking Pyxis units to maintain medication availability
- Handling incoming calls to the pharmacy and addressing inquiries efficiently
- Collaborating with pharmacists and clinical staff to support patient medication needs
Qualifications:
- Valid California Pharmacy Technician license is required
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
- Prior training or experience with intravenous (IV) preparations is highly beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow sterile compounding procedures
- Effective communication skills for coordinating within the pharmacy team
