A remote Pharmacy Technician opportunity is available, offering a temp-to-hire role supporting Medicare Part B prior authorization operations. This position requires a strong background in pharmacy technician duties with direct experience in utilization management and Medicare populations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and processing prior authorization requests using established policies and decision trees
  • Triage and data entry of incoming prior authorization requests from provider offices
  • Supporting Medicare Part B medication prior authorizations and preferred product strategies
  • Communicating with providers and hospitals to obtain clinical documentation for authorization reviews
  • Providing status updates and follow-up communication with providers and members
  • Assisting members and providers with alternative treatment options when necessary
  • Offering operational support to Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, and Physicians to ensure timely, accurate decisions
  • Acting as a liaison for internal teams, external providers, and operational partners
  • Supporting offshore clinical teams engaged in utilization management pharmacy workflows
  • Interpreting plan benefits and entering specialty pharmacy overrides to support correct claim adjudication

Qualifications:

  • Active Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Experience with Medicare Part B operations, particularly utilization management, prior authorizations, and pharmacy help desk functions
  • Previous work with Medicare patient populations preferred
  • Proficient in multiple computer systems and comfortable using Google Workspace/G Suite
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Prior experience in utilization management and prior authorization highly preferred

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, either 11:30 AM–8:00 PM ET or 9:30 AM–6:00 PM ET
  • Mandatory rotating weekend shifts
  • Note: Limited time off available during contract period unless in emergency situations

This contract runs for six months, transitioning to permanent employment afterward. Equipment and tools will be provided to ensure remote success. Candidates with direct Medicare Part B and utilization management experience are encouraged to apply promptly.
