Retail Pharmacy Technician in Chandler, AZ

This opportunity is for experienced specialty pharmacists with a focus on rare and orphan drugs, providing critical support to patients with unique healthcare needs. The role involves working in a specialty pharmacy environment where you will navigate complex approval processes, assist with patient financial support programs, and ensure optimal therapy management for costly, life-saving medications.

Location: Chandler, AZ
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks, Contract to Hire possibility)
Shift: Monday to Friday, Day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and manage specialty pharmacy medications focused on rare/orphan diseases
• Facilitate communication between healthcare providers and patients, offering high-touch clinical support
• Assist patients and providers with insurance approvals, financial assistance programs, grants, and rebates
• Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system to document and manage specialty pharmacy processes
• Ensure compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active and clear Pharmacy license in Arizona, in good standing
• Previous experience working specifically within a designated specialty pharmacy environment (retail experience alone is not sufficient)
• Strong knowledge of rare diseases and specialty medications, including support with payer processes and patient assistance programs
• Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills to support patient and provider interactions
• Ability to provide specialty pharmacy references and detail disease state expertise
