A pharmacy technician opportunity is available for a skilled professional with licenses in Virginia and Maryland to serve as a vital liaison between pharmacy operations and healthcare facilities across these states. This field-based role involves traveling to multiple sites within an assigned territory, providing direct support and expertise to enhance medication management and compliance in varied healthcare settings.
Responsibilities include developing strong relationships with facility leadership and staff, acting as the primary contact for assigned accounts, and delivering guidance on medication therapy and regulatory compliance. The technician will coordinate with clinical services and pharmacy operations teams to address client concerns promptly and identify opportunities to expand service offerings. Key duties also involve conducting training sessions on pharmacy and facility systems, performing monthly onsite visits with detailed reporting, preparing facilities for surveys, and carrying out medication room inspections and medication pass observations as requested.
This position requires flexibility with scheduling, primarily Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional later hours for audits. Candidates must have reliable transportation for travel to various locations, including overnight stays as needed, with all mileage and accommodations covered.
Desired qualifications:
- Current Pharmacy Technician licenses for Virginia and Maryland
- PTCB certification preferred
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy settings
- Familiarity with pharmacy and medication distribution software such as EMAR, Medbank, and Frameworks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and travel extensively
