An opportunity is available for a Certified Pharmacy Technician to serve as a key liaison between a pharmacy and multiple healthcare facilities across Maryland and Virginia. This role involves regular travel to various locations including Alexandria, Woodbridge, Fairfax, Richmond, and others, offering an engaging field-based professional experience. The position is a direct hire with an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with facility leadership and staff, becoming the primary contact for assigned accounts.
- Provide expert support and guidance on medication therapy and regulatory compliance in collaboration with clinical and pharmacy operations directors.
- Address inquiries and resolve issues to ensure quality care and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and promote service expansion opportunities and introduce new products tailored to client needs.
- Conduct training sessions on facility and pharmacy systems, medication startups, and compliance as requested.
- Perform monthly onsite visits, reporting, and assist with survey preparation and medication inspections.
- Collaborate closely with internal pharmacy teams to coordinate services seamlessly.
- Maintain compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Pharmacy Technician licenses in both Virginia and Maryland are required.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is highly preferred.
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy settings is beneficial.
- Familiarity with pharmacy and medication distribution software such as EMAR, Medbank, and Frameworks.
- Reliable transportation is essential due to travel requirements; overnight stays may be necessary.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Minimal weekend work, with some flexibility needed for late-day audits.
This direct hire role involves considerable travel throughout Maryland and Virginia, with mileage and hotel accommodations covered by the client.
