Pharmacy Technician - Chesapeake, Virginia

An opportunity is available for an experienced IV/Infusion pharmacy technician to support the growth of a home infusion service line within a large healthcare system with multiple hospitals and home infusion sites in Virginia and North Carolina. This contract-to-hire position offers a chance to work with a highly regarded healthcare provider known for quality patient care and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare IVs, total parenteral nutrition (TPNs), and other sterile compounded medications under pharmacist supervision
• Maintain quality assurance in compliance with departmental policies and legal standards
• Participate in clinical initiatives focused on improving patient outcomes
• Provide training for new pharmacy technicians as needed
• Perform additional sterile compounding and pharmacy technician duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with IV/infusion pharmacy techniques, including compounding TPNs and antibiotics; experience in a home infusion setting preferred, though inpatient IV experience is also considered
• Current Virginia pharmacy technician license required
• National pharmacy technician certification required
• Proficiency with EPIC pharmacy system

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, day shift

This contract-to-hire role begins immediately and is expected to last 13 weeks before potential permanent opportunities become available.
