Pharmacy Technician | Chicago, Illinois

A pharmacy technician position is available in an outpatient pharmacy setting located in Chicago, IL. This role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with standard daytime hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities include accurately processing medication orders and prescriptions, packaging and dispensing pre-manufactured dosage forms, and using the Pioneer RX computer system for medication management. The technician will operate within established policies for medication storage, preparation, dispensing, controlled substances reconciliation, and purchasing of pharmaceuticals and supplies. Additional duties involve assisting the pharmacist with patient, physician, and nursing education, retrieving drug information, and collecting patient-specific data to aid in ensuring safe and effective pharmacotherapy. The role also involves assisting with clinical pharmacokinetic data collection such as calculating creatinine clearance as part of designing therapeutic medication regimens.

Key qualifications and desired experience for this role include:

• A minimum of one year of pharmacy technician experience
• Experience working in a hospital outpatient pharmacy environment
• Knowledge of pharmacy insurance claims processing
• Current Illinois pharmacy technician license

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
