Pharmacy Technician - Cicero, IL

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Pharmacy Technician seeking to contribute within an outpatient pharmacy setting. The role involves working Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a contract-to-hire model offering the potential for permanent placement. Utilize your skills with the Pioneer RX computer system while supporting critical pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately processes medication orders and dispenses pre-manufactured dosage forms.
• Operates systems for medication storage, preparation, and dispensing in compliance with health system policies, including cart fill, unit dose distribution, controlled substances reconciliation, and pharmaceutical purchasing.
• Assists pharmacists in preparing educational materials for patients, physicians, and nursing staff.
• Supports pharmacists by retrieving accurate, timely drug information.
• Collects patient-specific data to aid pharmacists in optimizing pharmacotherapy, including IV to oral conversion screening, renal dose adjustments, allergy checks, and non-formulary prescription evaluation.
• Obtains clinical pharmacokinetic data such as creatinine clearance to assist in medication regimen design.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Previous experience in a hospital outpatient pharmacy setting.
• Familiarity with pharmacy insurance claims processing.
• Holds a valid Illinois pharmacy technician license.
