Pharmacy Technician - Clearwater Beach, Florida

A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Pharmacy Technician with retail pharmacy experience in a Clearwater Beach, FL location. This 13-week assignment on a Monday to Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM requires a professional who can efficiently manage prescription processing and inventory tasks while supporting a fast-paced pharmacy environment. The start date is ASAP, approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks after clearance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Processing prescriptions accurately, adjudicating insurance claims, and resolving any claim rejections.
• Preparing, packaging, and labeling medications in readiness for pharmacist verification.
• Performing data entry, maintaining prescription paperwork, and communicating effectively with patients and prescribers.
• Managing inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and monitoring medication expiration dates.
• Assisting with returns, medication quarantines, and proper destruction procedures.
• Cross-training in different pharmacy functions and supporting departmental needs.
• Ensuring full compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and other insurance regulations.

Ideal candidates will possess:

• A high school diploma or GED.
• PTCB certification and an active Florida pharmacy technician license.
• A minimum of two years’ experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably with retail pharmacy background; call center experience is a plus.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort with making phone calls.
• Excellent multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
• Effective communication abilities with patients, providers, and team members.
