Pharmacy Technician in Clearwater, FL

This 13-week contract opportunity based in Clearwater, FL, is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The role requires an individual who can efficiently process prescriptions, manage inventory, and assist with insurance claims and medication shipping tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and patient service.

Responsibilities include:

• Processing prescriptions, handling insurance adjudications, and resolving claim rejections
• Preparing, packaging, and labeling medications for pharmacist verification
• Performing data entry and managing prescription documentation
• Communicating effectively with patients, prescribers, and internal staff
• Maintaining inventory through cycle counts, restocking, and expiration checks
• Assisting with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures
• Cross-training in multiple pharmacy functions to support department needs
• Ensuring compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• PTCB certification and a valid Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; call center experience preferred
• Strong multitasking abilities along with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and team members
