Pharmacy Technician in Clearwater, FL

Start Date:

• ASAP or within 1.5 to 2 weeks after clearance

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and fill prescriptions using appropriate software while handling insurance adjudications and resolving rejections promptly
• Prepare, package, and label medications accurately for pharmacist verification
• Manage data entry tasks, maintain prescription paperwork, and facilitate communication with patients, prescribers, and insurance providers
• Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, restocking, and monitoring medication expiration dates
• Assist with medication returns, quarantine procedures, and destruction processes to ensure regulatory compliance
• Cross-train across various pharmacy functions and support overall department needs
• Adhere strictly to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations to maintain compliance

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required
• PTCB certification and active Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience, with preferred exposure to call center environments
• Strong multitasking abilities, organizational skills, and effective time management
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams
