This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced retail pharmacy technician to contribute to a busy pharmacy setting in Clearwater, FL. The role is a 13-week contract, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with an immediate start or shortly thereafter upon clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process prescriptions accurately and handle insurance adjudications, including resolving claim rejections.
  • Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification to ensure patient safety.
  • Perform data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and effectively communicate with patients and prescribers.
  • Maintain precise inventory control with daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews.
  • Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction as part of compliance procedures.
  • Cross-train in multiple pharmacy functions to support department needs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid Florida pharmacy technician license and PTCB certification in good standing.
  • Minimum two years of pharmacy technician experience, specifically in a retail setting.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools and confident making phone calls to communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Prior experience in call center environments is a plus.
